Vella Koch, Cavendish
Cavendish - Vella O. Koch, who with her husband had operated the general store at Cavensish for the last 30 years, died Wednesday night at her home here at age 63. She had been ill for seven months.
Mrs. Koch and her husband Leo moved to Cavendish in 1947 from Kelso, Wash.
She was born July 17, 1914 at Harrisburg, Idaho, the daughter of Harley and Mable Lansing. She lived in the Woodland area near Kamiah before moving to Bovill, where she attended school.
She was married to Bud Patterson in 1930 and the couple lived at Spokane. They were later divorced.
She was married to Koch at Kelso, Wash., June 12, 1944.
Mrs. Koch attended the Cream Ridge United Brethren Church at Cavendish.
Survivors in addition to her husband are two daughters, Lecile and Irene, both at the Cavendish home; two sons, Frank Patterson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Jerry Patterson Clarkson; two brothers, Willis Lansing of Kelso and Jack Lansing of Lewiston; two sisters, Thesta Poloson of Pullman and Lillian Carey of Cavendish, and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 10 am.m. Saturday at Gilbert's Chapel at Orofino, with the Rev. Lloyd Weller, pastor of the Cream Ridge United Brethren Church, officiating. Burial will be at the Cavendish Cemetery. The family suggested any donations go to the Cream Ridge Church memorial fund.
